PRESIDENT'S REPORT - HBA of CNM State of Affairs

by Michael Richards
President

Recently our Association’s Board of Directors participated in a planning retreat to assess the current state of our organization and to establish course of direction that we want to take over 3-5 years.
I am pleased to report that we are looking very good financially. Our current budget has surpassed our anticipated forecasts so the bottom line is that we are continuing to be strong from a fiscal standpoint.
Our committees and councils continue to be successful and a good portion of the retreat focused on creating a concerted effort toward recruiting more membership participation for activities, and within each respective council and committee. It is strongly felt that those members who are not involved do not realize just how they are missing. Besides creating networking and business relationships, participation also builds close bonds and friendships which continue far beyond just business.

A commitment was made to strengthen the force of our Government Affairs committee to help create more participation of our Production Builders in addressing political issues that affect our industry and communities.
The vision for our Association is to focus on our leadership and how we can better prepare our leaders for their roles within the organization. We recognize that our continuing growth as an established voice within our community requires continued involvement on multiple levels. Mentorship programs, public speaking courses and meeting management classes are all anticipated as a part of what we plan for the leaders of our organization, to help afford them the necessary tools to keep our organization strong.

I urge you, the membership, to continue your support of our great events and programs. By doing so you reinforce the strength of your Association and help our community to grow in a positive direction.Thank you.
